Bad Links? | Barons' Ball to Celebrate On The BorderThe American Cancer Societys- Fayette Countys 2005 Barons' Ball will have a slightly south of the border flavor to it this year. The Mt. Zion On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina, a division of Brinker International has agreed to become this years corporate food sponsor. Barons' Ball patrons will be provided On The Border's delicious Barbacoa (Spanish barbecue). Catering Manager, Tracy Light said that making this commitment to the American Cancer Society was an absolute, "no brainer." "Every family has been touched by cancer and we all need to pitch in to help find the cure." Area Sales Manager, John Szczesniak, was quick to agree with Tracy, his own family has had four generations effected by cancer. The third annual American Cancer Society - Fayette County Barons' Ball will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Fayetteville Kiwanis Fair Grounds and Exhibition Hall. The Catering Division of the Mt. Zion On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina will provide and coordinate all of the food service needs for the Barons' Ball, everything from appetizers to dessert. The local restaurant has been open to the public since October of 1998 and is just one of 130 On The Border restaurants nationwide. Catering is not new to the On The Border staff, the independent catering division handles all inclusive catering for parties of 10 to 5000 individuals. They do everything; servers, tables, linens, china, floral, decoration, rental and entertainment. The Barons' Ball's 500 patrons will be a 'piece of cake.' The 2004 Barons' Ball raised $165,000 for local programs of the American Cancer Society, which are made available to the community free of charge, as well as funding research and development. The western themed sell-out event was attended by 500 patrons. This year's event will feature a live auction offering trips and sports memorabilia, a sports car raffle, a golf cart raffle, mechanical bull rides, games of chance and food from On the Border.
