Hudak leaving Nativity Episcopal; will pastor St. Pauls, Greenville, N.C.The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville has announced the departure of its rector, the Rev. Bob Hudak, one of the first ministers in the Fayette area to reach out to the Muslim community following the Sept. 11 attacks and a very active member of the Fayette Interfaith Community Network. Hudak will celebrate his last Eucharist at the church on Sunday, Oct. 16. The public is invited to attend. Hudak leaves to begin a new assignment as rector of St. Pauls Church in Greenville, N.C., the third largest parish in the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina, and located adjacent to the East Carolina University campus. Its a diverse community of different age groups, education, and economic backgrounds, with a history of serving the community says Hudak. My experience with the Fayette Interfaith Community Network will be invaluable in my work in Greenville. Who will become rector of Nativity? Hudak explains the process, saying, The Diocese of Atlanta will immediately assign an interim priest. That person will lead the congregation for about the next 12 months, which will include a time of self-reflection before hiring a new priest. Its one thing to know that the time to leave would eventually come for our me, my wife Louise, and our two sons, Hudak added, but its something else to actually face it. Since coming here in 1998, we have become part of the fabric of the parish and of the larger community. The Episcopal Church of the Nativity is at 130 Antioch Road, just off of Hwy. 92 South, at Harps Crossing in Fayetteville. It is one of the 93 parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta and a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
