Ms. Jane Ferrell of College Park and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Betsill of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Diana Betsill, to Anthony Francisco Garcia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Garcia of Palmetto.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Marian Mays Slock of Woodstock and the late James Mays of Atlanta, and Mable Betsill of Jonesboro and the late William Betsill. She is a 2003 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayetteville. She currently attends West Central Technical College.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Gladys and Thomas Wright of Fairburn and Antonio and Eva Perez-Garcia of Guadalajara, Mexico. He currently is employed with Eckerds Distribution in Newnan.
The wedding will be Oct. 1, 2005, at 5 p.m. at the Coweta County Fair Grounds in Newnan.
After a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Newnan.
Warfield-Dockery
January Elaine Warfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dominic Warfield of Newnan, and Nathan Weldon Dockery, son of Hershel Dockery and Mrs. Vicki Newman of Atlanta, were married July 23, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Newnan. The Rev. Drew Porterfield conducted the ceremony. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Julia Huster.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a beaded, white strapless wedding gown with a beaded lace hem and cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of 24 red roses and stephanotis, with a hand-tied, white bow.
The maid of honor was Lauren Newman of Lilburn, who wore a floor-length black and white satin gown and carried a bouquet of red roses and stephanotis.
The grooms best man was his brother, Nick Dockery, of Peachtree City.
Following the ceremony, the brides parents hosted a wedding reception at The Major Long House in Newnan.
Prenuptial events included a bridal shower hosted by Lauren Newman at Cafe Tu Tu Tango in Buckhead; a bridal shower hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mason at the law offices of Lee Mason L.L.C. in Fayetteville; and a rehearsal dinner hosted by the grooms parents at The Brick Yard in Newnan.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple now resides in Newnan.
Vaughan anniversary
Ed and Anita Vaughan of Peachtree City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 27, 2005, with a reception held at Wendell Coffees in Tyrone. More than 100 guests, including family and friends, attended.
The Vaughans were married Saturday, June 18, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, Ind. The couple has lived in Oak Park, Ill., North Kansas City, Mo., East Point, Ga., and Crystal Lake, Ill., and have been residents of Peachtree City for the past 26 years.
Mr. Vaughan is retired from Motorola C. & E., Inc.
They have one son, Randy Vaughan, who lives in Sharpsburg.
