Bad Links? | Wright qualifies for Woolsey raceBy CAROLYN CARY Ken Wright, a three-year resident of Woolsey, has qualified to run for the seat vacated by Jerry Carpenter, who moved from the Woolsey area. Wright, a 47-year-old Georgia native, was born in Villa Rica and was reared in the south Fulton area. He is a graduate of M.D. Collins High School in College Park. While attending Southern Tech, he began working for the Fulton County Fire Department. He retired 22 years later with the rank of chief fire marshal. He is currently working in the private sector in fire investigation, and handles such subjects as fire safety, bomb squad, arson and code enforcement. His territory covers the southeastern United States. Along the way, he worked for an ambulance firm, where he met his wife, Donna. They have been married for 21 years, and the family includes Natalie, 20, a graduate of Sandy Creek High School. She is currently enrolled at Atlanta Christian College, majoring in business. A son, Richard, 17, attends Sandy Creek High School. I dont have any particular agenda, Wright said. I just want to see the community stay pretty much as it is. While growth will come along, I want to see that growth regulated. I pretty much feel that our zoning is pretty fair to everyone. He owns several antique autos and in his spare time, he and his wife travel to antique auto shows. |
