F’ville man arrested for planning encounter with ‘girl’

A Fayetteville man has been arrested for arranging an illicit encounter with a girl he met on the Internet who he believed was 14 years old, police said.

The girl, however, was an undercover officer for the Peachtree CIty Police Department, and Peter R. Seckinger, 44, is the ninth person to be arrested in a sting targeting computer crimes against children, police said.

Seckinger is the owner of Seckinger Design Associates Inc., an engineering firm located in Peachtree City. He was arrested Monday.

Police said Seckinger arranged a meeting with the undercover officer “for the purpose of engaging in a sexual act,” according to a statement released by the department.
