Bad Links? | Three candidate forums open to publicBy JOHN MUNFORD Several Peachtree City groups have announced they will hold candidate forums so citizens can learn more about the 11 candidates who have announced plans to run for the mayor and two city council seats in November. The Peachtree City Rotary Club will have its traditional candidate forum Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Wyndham Peachtree Executive Conference Center. As usual, the forum will be moderated by a past president of the club and a three person panel of Rotarians will field questions provided by the audience. Only issue-related questions will be accepted for presentation to the candidates, officials said. For more information, contact Frances Meaders or Debbie Webb through the Rotary voice mail system at 770-487-6639. Peachtree City’s Senior Adult Council will also host a public forum for candidates on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Gathering Place in Peachtree City. Voters will have the chance to ask questions not just on senior issues but also on other topics, according to organizers. Each candidate will be allowed to make a brief statement, followed by a question and answer session that will be moderated. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. Also, the Centennial Home Owners Association is hosting a meet the candidate event Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. in front of the Centennial clubhouse. Each candidate will give a brief introduction and follow with their stance on issues that affect the city. The clubhouse is located on Centennial Drive, and may be reached by taking a right off MacDuff Parkway onto Centennial; it will be on the left.
