What do you think of this story? Bad Links? | FCFT brings 50s musical to VillagesFayette-Coweta Family Theatre, Inc. will rock the stage of the Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville when they bring the crowd pleasing production "The Nifty Fifties" to life in October. Poodle skirts, bobby sox, motorcycle jackets, soda shops, a cast of 35 and an original score full of fabulous 1950s music will entertain audiences of all ages, as it takes folks back to a simpler place and time. FCFT is excited to be able to be to bring live theatre back to the beautiful Villages Amphitheater once again after their very successful production of "Joseph and the Amazing Dreamcoat" was presented there this past summer to record crowds and standing ovations. Nifty Fifties is set in Louise's Luncheonette home of the best shakes, sodas and burgers in town. Gracie Stanley, played by FCFT 2003 Director's Award Winner Kimberly Crawley, plans to hold the big school dance in the luncheonette and have rock star sensation Ziggy Springer (Curtis Legaspi) sing at the dance. The only problem is that snooty Muffin Mansfield, played by Laura Musselman, is just waiting for Gracie to fall on her face when Ziggy doesn't show up. Mix in numerous 50s dance numbers and tunes and, of course, a romance or two and you have the makings of an evening of fun for everyone. Tickets at the gate are $12 general and $11 children and seniors. Presale tickets are $10 at Peachtree City and Fayetteville libraries and by calling the theatre or via the FCFT Web site. A limited number of front section tables for 8 are available for $100 each by calling the theatre. Everyone is encouraged to bring your favorite beverage and snacks to enjoy prior to and during the performance. Drinks will be sold at the Amphitheater concession stand as well. Performances are set for Oct. 20-23 at 7:30 p.m. each evening, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. For more information or to make a reservation, call FCFT at 770-251-7611 or visit www.fcft.net/HomePage. | |
