More I-85 work this weekend

If you’re going near downtown Atlanta on I-85 this weekend, expect traffic delays due to the road reconstruction project.

Or better yet, officials suggest you avoid the area entirely by using an alternate route.

On the northbound side of the expressway, two right lanes will be closed from just before Ga. Highway 138 to one mile past the Flat Shoals Road exit, officials said. The exit ramp to Flat Shoals Road will also be closed all weekend, and a detour route will be marked.

No work is planned for the southbound lanes this weekend.

The construction work begins 9 p.m. Friday night and ends Monday at 5 a.m. so the project won’t affect weekday commuters.
