Bad Links? | Four in mayoral race; qualifying ends todayBy JOHN MUNFORD As of early Thursday afternoon, the number of mayoral candidates in Peachtree City was holding at four. It will make for a crowded race, and thats assuming no one else throws their hat into the ring by 4:30 p.m. today when qualifying ends for the mayors seat and two city council posts. Incumbent mayor Steve Brown is running again and will face opposition from Phil Boswell, Harold Logsdon and Dar Thompson. Councilman Steve Rapson is also running for re-election and is opposed by Stephen Boone. Councilman Murray Weed has declined to run for re-election, but three people by early Thursday afternoon have qualified to run for his position: Daniel Gibbs, Casimir Lukjan and Cynthia Plunkett. |
