Hope House joins with Peachtree Citys World Gym for September 24 fund raiserOn Saturday, Sept. 24, southside residents can put on their cycling shoes and lend their support to help the children of Hope House in Union City at the same time. World Gym in Peachtree City will be the site of a Spin-a-thon from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The cost is $25 per hour. Those participating can ride as many hours as they like or recruit a team and divide the hours up among team members. All proceeds benefit Southwest Christian Care. Hope House Childrens Respite Center, a part of Southwest Christian Care, is a facility which provides respite services to families with medically fragile children, ages birth to 21, from all over the metro Atlanta area. According to a spokesperson, the center, located in Union City, is a very special place where the focus is on making special children feel at home, while giving their families a much-needed break from the stress and exhaustion that results from providing constant care. It is one of the few organizations nationally that specializes in respite care to this particular population. Hope House offers the service at no cost to the patients or their families and depends solely upon donations from individuals, churches, businesses, civic groups and foundations to operate.
