Bad Links? | Local dentist steps up for Barons BallSponsoring a country western fundraiser with a logo of chili peppers and a slogan of The Hottest Ticket in Town comes very easily to one Fayette County resident and businessperson who chooses to give back to our community, due to the communitys generosity to him and his dental practice. Dr. Tommy Turkiewicz, D.M.D. and his dental practice, Kedron Village Dental, Inc., are Gold Level sponsors for the third annual Barons Ball for the American Cancer Society. Dr. Tommy to his patients, he has lived and practiced in Fayette County for 11 years. He, his staff, and his wife Kim feel quite at home participating in the Barons Ball. Dr. Tommy and his staff of 11 hygiene and office professionals work every day in a log cabin-styled modern dental office that is decorated in a country-western decor. Dr. Tommy and Kim both have family members who have been touched by cancer. They have chosen to donate and to become active with the Barons Ball because they believe in giving back to the community that has given them so much. They have worked on, sponsored, and attended the first two Barons Balls and have enjoyed participating in the auctions, bull rides and great food and dancing. For the 2005 Barons Ball, Dr. Tommy is sponsoring the T-shirts that are worn at the event by volunteer helpers and by the committee members who are already wearing them to advertise the Barons Ball to the public. The white T-shirts with chili pepper logo are appearing all over Fayette County as committee members prepare for the November fundraiser. Committee members will be wearing the shirts at upcoming events at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater as they sell opportunities to win a golf cart and a Nissan 350Z. The third annual American Cancer Society-Fayette County's Barons Ball will be Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Kiwanis Club of Fayette County. The Barons Ball is a major source of funding for the American Cancer Society. The proceeds from this event will contribute to the local programs of the American Cancer Society that are made available to our community free of charge as well as funding research and development.
