Bad Links? | Auditions and drama classes for homeschoolersOffshoot Productions will hold auditions by appointment for young actors for The Pied Piper Sept. 22 from 7-9:30 p.m. and Sept. 25 from 2-5 p.m. at the Fayette Family YMCA. Two roles, one male and one female, are available. Offshoot, the oldest professional theatre on the southside, encourages home-schooled students aged 10-17 try out for this charming participation play. Actors must be available to perform on several weekdays in November and again in January and February. The young performers cast in these roles will work alongside professional actors and gain hands-on experience in technical aspects of theatre. The auditions will consist of improvisation, reading from the script, and an interview. In addition to this exciting opportunity, Offshoots artistic director, Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D., will offer two acting classes through the Tyrone Recreation Department. Getting into the Act, for ages 6-8, will meet Mondays from Sept. 12 to Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to noon.
