Fayetteville Main Street is bringing back God and Country Night at the Villages Amphitheater with special meaning attached to the patriotic memorial program this year. The event is Sunday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. and will include a 9/11 tribute along with a full agenda of patriotic music and song. Main Street Fayetteville has partnered with Heritage Christian Church, New Vision Church, New Hope Baptist Church and Southern Nights Chorale to put together a varied and inspiring musical evening. Johnny Prettyman, music minister for Heritage Christian Church, is spearheading the musical segment of the program. J 93.3 Atlantas Christian Radio is sponsoring the event. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and God and Country Night will begin at 7 p.m. Seating will be in place for this program, or individuals may choose to bring their own blanket or chair to utilize the lawn seating area. Admission is free, but organizers are asking everyone to please bring some type of non perishable food item with them to help stock the pantry for Real Life Center, a not for profit organization located in Tyrone. The mission for the Real Life Center is real people dealing with real struggles, receiving real help. The non-perishable items will be collected at the entrance gates. Large screens will flank the stage of the amphitheater and display patriotic images which coincide with the music that will be performed. Musical selections for the evening include patriotic favorites such as God Bless America and God Bless the U.S.A. as well as America the Beautiful and a rousing rendition of This Land is Your Land performed by Heritage Christian Church childrens choir. Police, firemen and all branches of the military will receive special recognition during the performance of Go the Distance, a recent release from the Disney movie Hercules.
