Bad Links? | Rash of burglaries in Peachtree City
Peachtree City residents are being reminded to lock their doors including garage doors and windows, in light of three recent burglaries where the offender entered through unlocked doors. The burglaries under investigation occurred in the Maple Shade, Interlochen and Planterra Ridge subdivisions, police said. Residents are also urged to make sure they set all burglar alarms when leaving home, even for a short period of time. Witnesses in the reported burglaries described a black male with short black hear, dressed nicely in blue pants and a polo shirt in the area of the incidents. The suspect was seen in a gold or tan Nissan Altima, with a possible model year between 1995 and 1998. Witnesses told police the suspect looked as if he was soliciting or posing as a solicitor and casually walked around the victims residences as if he belonged there. Detectives are following up on a suspect as of Friday morning and all leads in the cases, police said. In one of the burglaries, the suspect entered through the rear door. In another case, entry was made either through the rear or garage doors that were left unsecured. In the other burglary, entry was made through an open garage door, police said. Anyone with information about these burglaries or possible contact with a solicitor matching this description is asked to contact police at 770-631-2510. Callers may remain anonymous. |
