Bad Links? | PTC hockey teams on a roll this summerTeams and Players from Peachtree City made their presence known recently at the Georgia Games Inline Hockey Tournament. After playing five games, the Peachtree City Chiefs 12U Team brought home Bronze Medals for their excellent efforts. There were six teams in the 12U division and after the three game round robin play, the Chiefs were in 3rd seed going into Final against the Slapshot Snipers of Cumming. They dominated the Final Game and won with a 5 ñ 2 score. Team members participating were Zack Chambers, Jake Dorman, Donnie Jarrett, Sam Lisicia, Ryan Martin, Cale Massa, Andrew Sanders, Ryan Speidel, Neilsen Waters, Chase Williams, Blake Scherer and Adam Barteski who stepped in as Goalie for the weekend. Coaches were Ron Barteski and Glen Speidel. The Puckhounds of Peachtree City, the adult team, also came away with bronze medals after playing four exciting games against the Savannah Super Geezers, the Rolling Ghosts and the Ageless Wonders, taking the win by playing the Ageless Wonders again in the bronze final. The Puckhounds will be participating in the Phat Tape Echo Cooler Classic, Aug. 12-14 in Alpharetta. Rounding out the weekend tournament, our four players of the 1989 Georgia State Wars team joined with the rest of the State Wars team, to play in the 17U division. The team played in four round-robin style games advancing to the Semi-Final Round in third place. Winning this game over the 1988 State Wars Team advancing them to the final against the 1987 State Wars Team. In the final, play was tied until the one minute mark when Peachtree City player Steven Beardsell scored an unbelieveable goal sending the team to the gold medal victory. The 1989 Georgia State Wars team members are Peachtree City players, Steven Beardsell, Martin Poncelet, Steve Sanders and goalie Cameron Eckhardt. Also joining the team for this tournament was Peachtree City player Cody Wheeler. Playing in the tournament, for the 1988 Georgia State Wars Team, was Peachtree City player Sylvain Poncelet. |
