Bad Links? | Patriot Day site changedPeachtree Citys Patriot Day event Sept. 11 will be held at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City instead of the citys amphitheater, organizers said this week. The change was made because of uncertain weather and better acoustics available at the church. The vocal groups, one of which sings a cappella, felt that being inside would enhance the audiences ability to hear their performance, said event coordinator Randy Gaddo. The church can accommodate 1,000 people, Gaddo said. The guest speaker is Judy Young, the new President of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., a group of women whose sons have died in combat for the United States. The official tribute is slated for 4-6 p.m., but doors will open at 3 p.m. Included on the agenda is a performance of the 530th Air National Guard Band of the South, a premiere military groups based at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta. |
