Woman arrested in IHOP scuffle

Vickie Lee Mimsmith, 49, of Poplar Pointe Drive, College Park, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and simple battery following an incident at IHOP on Jeff Davis Drive in Fayetteville at about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 24.

Fayetteville police officials said Mimsmith was detained after she caused a commotion and began cursing in the popular pancake eatery. As officers tried to arrest her, Mimsmith allegedly struck one officer in the left leg with her 2004 Ford Ranger as she tried to flee. Next, she scratched two other officers.

The College Park woman allegedly dug her fingernails into the right forearm of one officer and into the head of another officer. The officers received several small lacerations in the scuffle, according to police.

Mimsmith was taken to the Fayette County Jail for booking.
