Bad Links? | County moves forward on new state parkBy JOHN THOMPSON The Coweta County Commission gave unanimous approval Tuesday night to take the next step in creating a new state park. The park would be located in the northwest part of the county next to the Chattahoochee River. The park would be called the Chattahoochee Bend State Park, and could provide another source of tourist revenues for the county. The county agreed to partner with the Department of Natural Resources to create a master plan for the park. As part of the agreement, the county will: Issue a request for Proposals for preparation of a master plan. Contract with a design firm to prepare the plan after consulting with the Department. Pay the consultants fees. Appoint an individual to represent the county on the mater plan team. Assist with the location of the master plan meetings.
