Bad Links? | Another online arrestBy LEE WILLIAMS A top sales executive for Lithonia Lighting is the eighth person rounded up as part of the Peachtree City Police Departments ongoing quest to keep sexual predators away from children. Michael Alan White, 45, of Hardeman Lane, Covington, was arrested Thursday for Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 1999. According to Peachtree City police, White, a senior post sales administrator in the product and market development department at Lithonia Lighting, made contact with an undercover officer on the Internet. White allegedly told the officer whom he thought was a 15-year-old Peachtree City girl, that he wanted to have sex with her, police said. White arranged for a meeting in a large retail store located in Peachtree City, where he believed that he could pick up the undercover officer in his vehicle and take her to a local hotel, Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said in a prepared statement. Instead of hooking up with the so-called teen, police arrested him and carried him to the Fayette County Jail. A bond hearing was scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Fayette County Courthouse. However, details of the hearing were unavailable by presstime. |
