Bad Links? | Choppers coming to FairburnBy BEN NELMS A conceptual site plan was approved by Fairburn council members Aug. 8 that will bring Black Jack Motorcycles to the Ga. Highway 74 Corridor. The 1.36-acre site is located on the east side of Hwy. 74 and approximately 500 feet south of Milam Road, City Administrator Jim Williams told the council. The conceptual site plan, submitted by South-Tree Enterprises, Inc., calls for the construction of a 10,500 square-foot building. Parking is expected to be positioned on the north and east sides of the building. Property owner Old Campbell LLC also owns adjoining tracts to the north and east of the site. The property was recently annexed and is zoned C-2 commercial. The property to the south of Black Jack is the location of Kaiser Chiropractic. Fairburn Planning Commission recommended approval of the site plan Aug. 2. City staff also recommended approval with four conditions. Those include compliance with the Ga. 74 Overlay and Corridor Plans and the approval of architectural and landscaping plans and subsequent landscape installation. Slated for future development in the immediate Milam Road/Ga. Highway 74 area is the installation of a street immediately to the east of Bank of Georgia. The street is proposed to run south along three lots currently vacant and Black Jack Motorcycles. Plans to install the street is consistent with Fairburns desire to establish inter-parcel roadways along the east and west sides of the Ga. Highway 74 Corridor as properties develop. |
