Bad Links? | Comprehensive plan available for viewingBy JOHN THOMPSON Residents who want to play a part in the future of Senoia have a unique opportunity during the next week. The citys updated comprehensive plan is now available at City Hall for public comment. The document will help chart how Senoia is developed during the next two decades and attempts to offer a blueprint for the future. Consultant Jonathan Lewis of JJ&G told the City Council Monday night that public comment was an important aspect of getting the plan approved by the Department of Community Affairs. This provides an inventory of existing conditions, and it also identifies some problems, Lewis said. Mayor Bob Hannah agreed the public needed to get involved, but also said some of the items in the report were already outdated. It talks about failed septic systems, but weve got our sewer system up and running now, Hannah said. City Clerk Debby Hogan said the city had two physical copies for review at City hall, but citizens can also view the report electronically. For an electronic copy, send an email to the citys administrator rferry@senoia.com. A public meeting on the plan is set for Sept. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the Freeman Sasser building in the citys park. Lewis encourages all residents to show up and offer their solutions for the citys funeral. |
