Singles Ministry at PTC UMC announces programs for fallThe Singles Ministry of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer several classes for singles beginning in September. These courses are taught by trained leaders and are open to the community. A nominal fee to cover the cost of materials will be charged. Divorce Care is a comprehensive 12-week program designed to help with the healing process and the multitude of problems that occur during divorce transition. Classes begin Sept. 7 and will continue each Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in room 306 at the Robinson Road campus. For information, contact Carl Bissantz, 770-463-0152, or e-mail carl.bissantz@suntrust.com. Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K) is a 12-week class held simultaneously with Divorce Care and is a great outlet for children going through the divorce of their parents. Many times, children in a divorce situation do not understand what is happening. DC4K helps them to sort through some of their anxiety and bond with others going through similar experiences. Classes start Sept. 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in room 124 at the Robinson Road campus. For information, contact Mike Biltimier, 770-254-1850, or e-mail biltydude@juno.com. The Road Less Traveled by Scott Peck will be featured in a 12-week class also beginning Sept. 7. The class is a guide to confronting and resolving problems and suffering through changes. It helps one learn the nature of loving relationships: how to recognize true compatibility; how to distinguish dependency from love; how to become ones own person; and how to be a more sensitive parent. The class will meet each Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Room 302 at the Robinson Road campus. For information, contact Ralph Ferguson, 770-631-3159, or e-mail ralphferguson44@bellsouth.net. For more information on any of the programs, contact the instructor or call the church office at 770-487-6499. |
