Bad Links? | Harris earns Eagle rankPhillip Harris of Fayetteville has earned the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America for his accomplishments in Troop 62 of McDonough. He is the son of John and Iris Harris. Phillip began Scouts as a Webelo in Pack 161 of Stockbridge, where he earned Cub Scoutings highest honor, the Arrow of Light Award. He crossed over to Troop 62 in McDonough in 1999. Phillip completed the Flint River Councils Junior Leadership Training and has held several leadership positions within his troop, most notably the position of Troop Guide where he mentors young Scouts. He has earned 35 merit badges and is a member of Order of the Arrow, Scoutings national honor society. For his Eagle service project, Phillip repaired and painted the exterior of the Emergency Shelter Building at Calvary Refuge Center in Forest Park. Calvary Refuge Center is a shelter for homeless people in the south metro Atlanta area. Phillip and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, one of the local churches who sponsors Calvary Refuge Center. Troop 62 is in the Tussahaw District, Flint River Council, Boy Scouts of America and is sponsored by First Baptist Church of McDonough. |
