Bad Links? | Qualifying set in Union CityBy BEN NELMS Qualifying is around the corner for mayor and two at-large council seats in Union City government. The qualifying period for the Nov. 8 election begins Sept. 12 and runs through Sept. 14. City positions up for election include that of mayor and the at-large city council setas of Shirley Jackson and Barbara Bohannon. Those interested in qualifying should do so at city hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee for each race is $35. Those interested in qualifying should contact the Election Superintendent at city hall, located 5047 Union Street. Union City has three polling locations. These include C. H. Gullatt Elementary School located at 6110 Dodson Road, Fred Etris Community Building in Bridges Park lcoated at 5285 Lakeside Drive and Sparks Manor Auditorium in Christian City located at 7290 Lester Road. |
