Chronicle confirms Metro Brokers as top mortgage brokerThe Atlanta Business Chronicles annual list of mortgage broker Top Guns in Georgia recently revealed Metro Brokers Financial as the number one residential mortgage broker in Georgia for 2004. MBF blew away the competition. With 1,509 loans closed totaling $177.8 million, the company had 51 percent more transactions and 36.5 percent more volume than its closest challenger. The company more than doubled the volume and transactions of the number three mortgage broker. However, the most staggering numbers were for purchase lending. MBF approved 1,311 loans totaling $149 million in volume for purchase lending, which is almost four times higher in transactions and almost three times higher in volume than the next contender. Mortgage brokers have to be a member of the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers (GAMB) for the whole year the numbers are based on in order to qualify for the Top Guns list. The list is compiled annually by the GAMB for the Atlanta Business Chronicles Book of Lists. Being named number one was exciting, but also very predictable, explained Judy Jones, Vice President of MBF. Under the leadership of President and CEO Kevin Levent, the entire focus of MBF is to be number one along with every other part of the real estate process. Jones attributes MBFs success to the growing number of sales associates who continue to join Metro Brokers and send their clients to MBF. Associates like to partner with MBF because of the mortgage programs, marketing tools, and service they receive from the experienced loan officers. MBFs List and Lock program allows associates to lock in rates on a listing before a buyer is identified, which is perfect for listing presentations. Rates are locked on four different loan programs so the buyer can select what is best for them. In addition, MBF creates financial flyers to help associates gain and market listings. Some of the flyers target renters who can often own a home for $0 down and pay the same as they do for rent. The GAMB said to also look for MBF loan officers on the Atlanta Business Chronicles list of top loan officers, which is set to come out in August.
