Religion BriefsFinancial seminar scheduled SaturdayA day-long family financial seminar will be held Saturday Aug. 13, at the 400 Windgate Rd. Campus of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. The seminar covers handling money, family budgets, managing money, saving, borrowing, getting out of debt and achieving financial freedom. The seminar will be given by Crown Financial Ministries, a Christian non-profit organization. There will be a charge of $25 per person to cover the cost of materials and lunch. Corinth Baptist to host back-to-school eventCorinth Baptist Church will host a Links to Learning Community Block Party Saturday, Aug. 13, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Miracle Making Ministries of Augusta and will feature live music. Offered free will be school supplies, haircuts, medical screening, eyeglasses, games, prizes, moonwalk, putt-putt, dunk tank, sno-cones and lunch. Southside Baptist schedules spaghetti dinnerMembers of Southside Baptist Church will host a spaghetti supper Saturday, Aug. 14, from 4-8 p.m. with all proceeds going to the church building fund. The cost will be $5 per plate and will include spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and tea. Coke and dessert will be available for an additional price. Dine in or carry out. The church is at 1332 Ga. Homecoming planned at Whitewater BaptistWhitewater Baptist Church, the oldest church in Fayette County, will celebrate its 182nd homecoming Sunday, Aug. 14, with a day filled with activities. Sunday school is from 9:45-10:35 a.m., followed by coffee and snacks from 10:35-10:55. Worship will be from 11 a.m. until noon, followed by a covered dish dinner and an old fashioned gospel singing in the afternoon.
