Bad Links? | Kidz Fest 2005 coming Aug. 20Did you spend too much money on school supplies and back-to-school clothes for your children? Well, organizers in Peachtree City have planned what they think is the perfect family event that won't hurt your wallet. Kidz Fest 2005 (formerly The Last Fling) is an old but new event in Peachtree City. Traditionally it has been two days before school starts. "We decided to move the date to late August to give families a chance to get ready for school," said Kidz Fest coordinator Art Sivertsen. Although the name has changed, the same fun activities, with new attractions added, are expected to be there. The free attractions include Iron Man Obstacle Course, The Giant Slide, Rock Wall, Moonwalk, and two money machines with free prizes for children. Face painting is also free, but you have to line up early. Pony rides will be offered for a nominal fee. Vendors will offer snow cones, hot dogs, Chick-fil-A sandwiches and refreshments at reasonable prices. Kidz Fest is Saturday Aug. 20, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Shakerag Knoll (next to the BMX track and amphitheater). For more information, contact the Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department at 770 631-2542 or youth@peachtree-city.org. |
