By LINDSAY BIANCHI Energy levels will be off the chart Saturday night as six area bands converge on the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater. Summer Jam 2005 will test the mettle of rock fans with back-to-back performances featuring some of the brightest new sound-makers from Atlanta and beyond. Familiar local favorites, Chopper John, get things revved up with their upbeat mix of Ska, Rock, and Pop/Punk. The Indie/Pop/Rock sound of Atlantas own, Tomorrows Regret, lend a hand to the proceedings as the beats keep coming. From Madison, Alabama emerges nationally lauded Alternative Rock band The Arrival, whose blend of the soft and hard gives dynamic thrust to the evening. Peachtree Citys entry into the line-up, local noisemakers Somedaynew, make sure that no musical stone is left unturned. Cartel, another group of talented young men, show up fresh from the Warped Tour at the Pontiac Silverdome and the Hi-Fi Buys Amphitheater. Capping off what is already a killer list of acts, Honestly, featuring Matt Melton of Peachtree City on guitar and vocals, finish the night off with style. The multi-rock concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m.. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Fredrick Brown Jr., Amphitheater Box Office or at Ticketmaster.com. Seating is all general admission and ticket prices will be $15 in advance and $18 at the door. After concert expenses, all proceeds will benefit the Peachtree City Youth Council.
