Gas leak: At 6 p.m. July 19, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a gas leak at 405 Lakeside Drive. Lightning strike: At 6:37 p.m. July 19, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a lightning strike at 220 Bontura Drive. Building fire: At 2:34 p.m. July 20, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a building fire at 1145 E. 54 Hwy. Phony fire alarm: At 1:57 p.m. July 29, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to phony fire alarm call at 240 Felton Drive. Building fire: At 2:19 p.m. July 30, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a building fire at 180 Hillcrest Ave. From July 19 to Aug. 1: the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services received 216 calls for help. Fayetteville Fire Dept. Cooking fire: At 3:40 a.m. July 18, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a cooking fire at 221 Banks Station. The fire was contained to the container. Gas spill: At 11:44 p.m. July 18, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a gas spill at Glynn Street and West Lanier Avenue. Gas spill: At 7:16 a.m. July 19, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a gas spill at 610 W. Lanier Ave. Lightning strike: At 3:47 p.m. July 19, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a lightning strike at the Fayette County 911 Dispatch Center, 101 Volunteer Way. Water problem: At 5:18 p.m. July 21, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a water problem at 155 White Oak Court. The event was severe weather-related. Power lines down: At 6:58 p.m. July 22, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 125 Pinetree Court after downed power lines were reported in the area. Gas spill: At 7:16 a.m. July 23, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a gas spill at 350 Huie Hill. Dumpster fire: At 6:19 p.m. July 27, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a dumpster fire at 165 Downing Court. Arcing equipment: At 8:04 a.m. July 28, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 105 Autumn Glen Circle after an arcing equipment problem was reported. Lightning strike: At 5:14 p.m. July 28, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a lightning strike at the Fayette County 911 Dispatch Center, 101 Volunteer Way. From July 17-31: the Fayetteville Fire Department received 94 calls for help. Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Fire alarm: At 10:38 a.m. July 18, Peachtree City Fire and Rescue personnel responded to an activated fire alarm at 122 Rosemont. An investigation showed activation of alarm was from the steam of a shower. Fire alarm: At 3:09 p.m. July 18, Peachtree City Fire and Rescue personnel responded to an activated fire alarm at 1125 Astoria Lane. An investigations showed the activation was due to construction work. Structure fire: At 4:16 p.m. July 19, Peachtree City Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a reported structure fire at 142 Wynnmeade Parkway. An investigation determined lighting struck the building, but no fire resulted. Wires down: At 7:30 p.m. July 19, Peachtree City Fire and Rescue responded to a report of wires down at 212 Hilltop Drive. An investigation determined the wires to be cable wires. Structure fire: At 12:55 a.m. July 24, Peachtree City Fire and Rescue personnel responded to McDonald’s, 709 Crossings East, for a structure fire. Fire personnel extinguished the fire. Water leak: At 10:03 p.m. July 25, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a water leak at 403 Rockcreek Drive. The firefighters turned off the water to the residence and contacted the Building Department. Trash fire: At 11:40 p.m. July 25, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a trash fire at 114 Santolina Park. The fire was extinguished and the scene was turned over to the Peachtree City Police Department. Wires down: At 9:38 a.m. July 27, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a report of wires down at the intersection of Ga. Highway 74 South and Planterra Way. The firefighters arrived to find Ga. Hwy. 54 blocked from a construction accident that brought down all the streetlights in the intersection. The roads were blocked and traffic redirected until Georgia Power could de-energize the power lines across the roads. Golf Cart accident: At 9:10 a.m. July 28, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a golf cart accident at 101 High Green. Firefighters and EMS personnel checked for injuries. Rescue Air One Helicopter transported one patient to an Atlanta hospital. Structure fire: At 6:17 p.m. July 29, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a structure fire at 400 Crosstown Drive. The store manager stated the building had been struck by lightning in the front of the store. Firefighters checked the store for indications of a lightning strike and found minor electrical problems. Management was told to get an electrician in to check electrical system. From July 18-31: Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to 88 calls for help. |
