Bad Links? | Registration next week for Evening High SchoolRegistration for the Fayette County Evening High Schools first mini-semester will be held Aug. 8 from 4-6 p.m. at the LaFayette Education Center, Building D. Tuition for day students is $265 per class with a $50 per course book deposit and a $15 lab fee for science classes. Day school counselor approval is required for any course. Day students may take one class each semester at FCEHS and have credit transferred to their home school. Both the student and a parent must be present at the time of registration. Students attending the Evening School on a full-time basis must pay a $150 book deposit and any applicable lab fees. If registering as a full-time student for the first time, please contact the evening high school for an appointment, 770-460-3990, ext 231. Out of county students may attend FCEHS paying $330 per course, a $50 book deposit per course and $15 lab fee. Students may now pre-register. Registrations after Aug. 10 will not be accepted. All classes meet Monday-Thursday beginning Aug. 9. The following classes will be offered: 1st Period (4:00-6:09 p.m.): 10 English A, Algebra 1A, Algebra 2A, Biology A, US History A, Spanish 2A and Intro to Business. 2nd Period (6:30-8:39 p.m.): 11 English A, Applied Problem Solving A, Applied Algebra A, Economics, Environmental Science and Communication Skills. 3rd Period (8:41-10:50 p.m.): 12 English A, Geometry A, Applied Geometry A, Earth Science and World History A. Accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, the evening high school offers both college prep and technical/career diplomas. The school is designed for the student who wishes to pursue a diploma in a nontraditional format. There are no extra curricular programs or activities, allowing students to concentrate on completing requirement for graduation. |
