Bad Links? | Rezonings on Fayetteville agendaBy BEN NELMS Fayetteville council members will take up rezoning requests Aug. 4 that include The Park at Summit Point and resolutions related to fees for Planning and Zoning and building permits. The council will hear the second reading of a proposed rezoning for The Park at Summit Point office complex, located behind the Summit Point shopping center on Ga. Highway 85 South. The proposal would alter the original number of buildings and total square footage approved for the site. Originally adopted for the parcel were two buildings totaling 20,000 square feet. The council is considering a proposal that would construct 11 buildings at the site with a cumulative total of 32,000 square feet. The proposal was rejected recently by the citys Planning and Zoning Commission. Though understanding of the developers desire to alter the number of buildings to enhance marketability, commissioners rejected the idea because it added square footage that exceeded the original plan. Also at the Aug. 4 meeting, council members will consider several staff-recommended rate changes to the citys existing rate schedule for the Planning and Zoning Fee Schedule and the Building Permit Fee Schedule. |
