Bad Links? | Time and the Christian
Much has been written on the subject. I can remember when I was in the military attempting to scurry around and do all the mission essential items on my daily list to accomplish. I can remember when one of my superiors said to me, Knox, there is a time management seminar that is being conducted next week and I hear it is a pretty good three-day workshop. I replied, Sir I just dont have the time to go. He smiled and said, I rest my case, but be there at 0800 hours Monday morning! Back during the good ole black and white TV days there was a weekly science program where true scientific laws of the universe were discussed. I remember one program where they had somehow theorized that the whole universe expands and contracts. They went about explaining how this happened. The theory was that when the universe expanded, time did also and when it contracted, time did the same. Our daughter just came home for a visit from Enid, Okla., where her husband Jeremy is training to be an Air Force pilot. Her visit seemed to go so quickly that it seemed to only be two days long yet it involved a seven-day visit including a trip to the mountains, her birthday dinner with presents, and a church service over the weekend, several meals out, and several long projects around the home. Many songs have been written about time. One of my all time favorites is a Willie Nelson tune where it begins with Oh hello there, its been a long long time; hows your new love, yes, I hear hes doing fine; yes, its funny how time slips away. As I have passed 29, I have realized that it does fly for sure. If you dont believe this, think back to when your first child was born or the day you married. Wasnt it truly just yesterday? Moving this into the Christian realm, I remember very vividly over eight years ago we started His House Community Church on our living room couch with just our family in attendance. I remember walking the land we finally purchased near Senoia and how we all gathered for a picture for our Future Home of His House sign in the front yard. Yes, its funny how time slips away. Gods Word says that one day when we least expect it, a trumpet will sound and Christ will return. It will be too late to start a church or set things right. I talked to a lady not long ago who indicated to me, I guess I need to quit talking about coming to church and just do it, dont I? I responded with, Sounds like a plan. Yes, its funny how time slips away. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. (Isaiah 55:6)
(The churchs Web site is under construction and will be up and running shortly.)
