Bad Links? | Book donations on holdThe Peachtree City Library will not accept donated books from now until Jan. 1. Thats because the librarys temporary location has run out of storage space, said Jill Prouty, the librarys technology and training manager. Plus, it just adds to the things that well have to move back, Prouty said, referring to the librarys permanent building, which is being renovated and expanded. During this period, books can be donated to the Fayette County or Tyrone library or another charitable organization. The delaying of book donations until Jan. 1 allows library staff the time to set up storage areas in the basement and the area to be used for book sales, Prouty said. We dont want to be immediately overwhelmed with used books when we get into the new facility, Prouty said. Our main goal at this point is to get all our new books ready for the grand opening. The library is projected to re-open at its renovated location next to City Hall in late October.
