Bad Links? | Browns Mill event set for Sat.The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society has announced plans for the observance of the 141st anniversary of the Battle of Brown's Mill, which took place in Coweta County on July 30-31, 1864. The picnic dinner will be held at The History Center in the old A&WP Railroad Depot at 60 East Broad Street in Newnan Saturday at 6 p.m. David Evans, author of Sherman's Horsemen and Random Acts of Kindness and noted Civil War historian, will again be the guest speaker. Updates on the status of the battlefield park and its nomination to the National Register of Historic Places will be given. Entertainment will be provided by the Peach Pickers, a local group performing on dulcimers. Dinner will be provided by Sprayberry's Barbecue. Tickets are $25 per person for adults, with a discount of $5 for those attending in uniform/costume, and $12.50 for children, with a $2.50 discount for those in uniform/costume.
