LeeAnne Tomlin and Stephen Rabun Brown, both of Newnan, were married Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 7 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Clayton. The Rev. Douglas B. Volk conducted the double ring ceremony.
Following the wedding, the brides parents hosted a dinner at Madisons at the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Tomlin of Peachtree City and Rabun County. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Russell Smith Jr. of Douglas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Clarence Tomlin of Fitzgerald. She presently is a computer instructor with the Coweta County school system.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hugh Brown Jr. of Newnan. He is the grandson of Mrs. Isabel Haynie Brown and the late George Hugh Brown Sr. of Newnan, and the late Mrs. Su Soo Nam and the late Cha Kyong Chu of Korea. He is a lieutenant with the City of Newnan Fire Department.
The couple honeymooned in the mountains of western North Carolina and Amelia Island, Fla., and now reside in Newnan.
Shepard anniversary
John Marshall and Margaret Grady Shepard celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 17, 2005. The couple married in 1945, after Mr. Shepard was discharged from the U.S. Army.
Mr. Shepard is a graduate of Georgia Tech and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a World War II B-17 pilot. Mrs. Shepard attended Huntington College and was a teacher.
The couple has three daughters, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
For their anniversary celebration, the Shepards took a trip to the Georgia mountains where they had honeymooned 60 years before.
Martin-Winter
Mr. And Mrs. James Shepack of Peachtree City, and Ronald and Raiza Martin of Big Canoe, announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Grier Hart Martin, to Justin Alan Winter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Winter of Fairburn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Lynn Hart of Fayetteville, and Rayburn and Betty Jo Martin of Galax, Va. She is a 2001 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City and a 2005 cum laude graduate of Furman University where she received degrees in art and Spanish.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Roy and Marilyn Winter of Marenisco, Mich. and Patricia Haage of Fairburn and the late William Russell Haage. He is a 2000 graduate of Landmark Christian School in Fairburn and a summa cum laude graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. He received the degree of industrial engineering. He currently is employed with Power Plan Consultants in Atlanta.
The wedding will be Aug. 7, 2005, at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan.
Rodriguez-Johnson
Mr. and Mrs. Jorge Rodriguez of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Venessa Rodriguez, to John Kenneth Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Johnson, also of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Fayette County High School and currently attends Griffin Technical College where she is majoring in radiology and health care assisting.
The future groom also is a 2002 graduate of Fayette County High School and presently is a firefighter with the Henry County Fire Department.
The wedding will be Sept. 10, 2005, at 3 p.m., at Southern Oaks in Fayetteville.
After a honeymoon to Rivera Maya, Mexico, the couple will reside in McDonough.
Matthews-Roberts
Bertus and Karen Matthews of Savannah announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amanda Lynn Matthews, to Bradley Steven Roberts, son of Leon and Claudette Roberts of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dorothy Hodges and the late Frank Hodges of Savannah, and Betty Matthews of Michigan and Bertus Matthews Jr. of Florida. She is a 2001 graduate of Windsor Forest High School in Savannah and is pursuing a bachelors degree in early childhood education at Georgia State University. She currently works in the pharmacy at Eckerd.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Harold Roberts and the late Juanita Roberts of Riverdale, and the late Madge Korizon of Atlanta and the late Raymond Korizon of Conyers. He is a 1999 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2004 graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University with a bachelors degree in health science. He is employed with Grainger Industrial Supply in Norcross.
The wedding will be Aug. 6, 2005, at 1 p.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone.
Following a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple will reside in the Buckhead area.
