Bad Links? | Black belt riding a three year unbeaten streak By MICHAEL BOYLAN Savannah Jordan stumbled upon Tae Kwon Do and now the three time Junior Olympic Champion wont let go. Jordan, 10, found Tae Kwon Do when her sister started taking gymnastics. Her first instructor, Master Lenox, had a dojo above the gymnastics studio. While she wasnt competing as much, she was learning to love the sport. She soon met Master Kojak of Tiger Martial Arts and starting three years ago, when she was a green belt, he started training her. I thought to myself, one day she will be an olympic champion, said Kojak. She has the talent and skill. Kojak began to take Jordan to competitions and she hasnt lost a match in three years. She has progressed from green belt to second degree black belt and is now a captain and a junior instructor at the school. To keep progressing, Jordan practices everyday. She resides in Fayette County and is a homeschool student. I just thank God for my abilities, said Jordan, who remains humble about her incredible winning streak. Her goal is to one day make the Olympics and by training hard and continuing to improve that goal seems more attainable everyday. Jordan will head out to Las Vegas with the rest of her teammates from Tiger Martial Arts for the North American Open next week. For more information on Tiger Martial Arts, phone 770-719-8889. |
