Religion BriefsEncounter 2005 concludes tonightThe final Encounter 2005 community worship event is set for tonight, July 27, from 7:30 - 9 p.m. at New Hope South in Senoia. All high school and college students in the community are encouraged to attend. Middle school students and adults also are welcome. Admission is free. Woolsey seniors plan special Bible studyThe Woolsey Wanderers of Woolsey Baptist Church will have a senior adult Bible study Wednesday through Friday, July 27-29, from 9 a.m. until noon, led by the Rev. Steve Foster, associate director of missions in the Flint River Baptist Association. Lunch will be included for a nominal fee. There is no charge for study materials nor to attend the sessions. CTK welcomes guest speakers SundayFather Paul Massey, a priest in the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and currently the pastor of The Church of the Holy Cross in Fayetteville, will be the guest preacher at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Churchs 8 a.m. service Sunday, July 31. At the 11 a.m. service, another guest, Father Bruce Gossett, an ordained, independent charismatic minister for more than 25 years, will speak. Christ the King is on Ga. Hwy. 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan.
Sharpsburg Baptist to hold SingspirationSharpsburg Baptist Church will host a Singspiration Sunday, July 31, at 6 p.m. Northside Baptist Church will be the guest performers, and the SBC Choir will join them for a few specials. An ice cream social will be held after the event. Sharpsburg Baptist Church is at 6413 Highway 54 near the Sharpsburg post office.
Special service for teachers plannedChrist Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer a worship service of blessing for teachers Monday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. This is the first day back in school for many area teachers. All teachers and people who work in the education system are especially invited to attend and receive an individual blessing. The service is one of the six prayer and healing services that Christ Our Shepherd offers every year and features the celebrating of Holy Communion, individual anointing and blessing for everyone who wants it, and the musical leadership of the Christ Our Shepherd Flute Choir. The church is on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Hwy. 54 in Peachtree City.
Preschool announces open houseNational Heights Baptist Church will have a community open house in the Child Development Center Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. Families may tour the facility and meet with the classroom teachers and center workers. National Heights offers Montessori, Pre-K, Preschool, Toddler I & II, and daycare for children ages 12 months to 5 years, weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The church is at the intersection of Ga.
