Hospice benefit set for July 30

The Southern Hospice Care Foundation’s Hospice is Hope concert is coming this summer to benefit hospice patients in Fayette, Coweta, and surrounding areas. The main attraction of the concert will be a local favorite, the Allen Goodman Band. Also appearing will be The Masters of Note and The Fayette Community Choir. Radio personality Moby from the “Moby in the Morning” show will be the emcee for the event.

Allen Goodman has performed professionally since he was 13 years old. His band is a diverse mix of ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s music. They have performed for thousands all over the Atlanta area and in Alabama. It has been said that “Allen is an old time piano player, trapped in a young man's body.”

Masters of Note is a local barbershop quartet. The Fayette Community Choir is Fayette County’s own volunteer gospel choir.

The money raised will be used to provide hospice care for those with limited financial resources. The Southern Hospice Care Foundation will also use a portion of the proceeds to develop a pediatric hospice program for Fayette and Coweta counties.

Southern Hospice Care Foundation is a Newnan-based charitable organization, focusing support for its primary hospice, CrossPoint Health Care, Inc. The Foundation also supports other hospice organizations and certain community organizations throughout the service area. Foundation support includes a benevolent fund to provide services and medications for patients with limited financial resources and essential supplies for the many patients that are in need

The concert is July 30 at Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the show starting promptly at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $3 for children ages 5 to 12, and $5 for adults. An auction will also be held to auction items donated by local businesses.
