McDonald’s reopens after fire

The McDonald’s restaurant in the Peachtree Crossings shopping center reopened Monday afternoon after a fire broke out in a fry cooker Sunday, officials said.

The fire was limited to the device itself, said Peachtree City Building Official Tom Carty. The city’s fire marshal and the county health department have already inspected the restaurant, he added.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was reported around 2 p.m. Sunday, Carty said. The main obstacle keeping the restaurant closed was a need to clean up, Carty noted.
