Traffic light out at Hwy. 54, Planterra

The traffic light at Ga. Highway 54 West and Planterra Way in Peachtree City was destroyed during an auto crash Wednesday morning. This is the same traffic light that serves the Wal-Mart and Home Depot in addition to the Peachtree City Tennis Center. Heavy traffic delays are expected until the light can be repaired or replaced, which is expected to be sometime Thursday, officials said. In the meantime, motorists are being asked to avoid the area, as traffic is normally slow anyway due to construction of the highway widening between Ga. Highway 74 and Fischer Road in Coweta County.
