Bad Links? | Symphony comes to the SouthsideA summertime treat comes to the Chattahoochee Hill Country August 3, when the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) provides a free concert for metro Atlanta residents as part of its summer park concert schedule. Presented by the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy, the concert is at the 103-acre Hutcheson Ferry Park in Palmetto. Gates will open at 6 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Jere Flint, staff conductor and musical director for the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, will conduct a varied program that ranges from Beethovens Movement I from Symphony No. 4., to John Williams Star Wars Suite. The ASOs summer parks concerts take place in parks and venues throughout Atlanta and neighboring venues. This year marks the first ASO summer concert to be held in the Hill Country, secured through the leadership of the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy. Hutcheson Ferry Park is located at 9774 Hutcheson Ferry Road, with the park entrance across the street from the intersection with Gravel Road. The concert and parking are free and funding is provided by Fulton County Commission, Fulton County Arts Council, Fulton County Parks and Recreation and the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy.
