About Universal Design

Universal Design is a fairly new concept, but it has gotten the attention of Bob Adams Homes in a big way. Realizing that their Easy Living certification was a great start, their introduction of Universal Design was an easy decision, practically a given.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Universal Design is that if your home is equipped with the necessary changes to make it accessible by people who have special needs, you will end up with a home that looks “institutional.” That is just not the case with Universal Design. These homes have the look and feel of any other home. They are elegant, spacious and very aesthetically pleasing. New designs are implemented to assure that your home, while being handicap friendly and visitable, will not have the appearance of assisted living facilities where bathrooms and kitchens are noticeably different.
