Religion BriefsUnion Grove celebrates 96 yearsUnion Grove Baptist Church in Union City will celebrate 96 years of service to the community with special services Friday, July 22 and Sunday, July 24, based on the theme Faith in the House. The church was formed in 1909. Fridays service, Walking Faith, will be at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays service, Mountain Moving Faith, will be at 11 a.m., and Sunday afternoons service, Believing Faith, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday school that morning will be at 9 a.m. The church is at 6591 T.A. Family and Friends Day plannedNew Beginnings Praise & Worship Center will have its Family and Friends Day service Sunday, July 24, at 10:30 a.m. Also, children ages 3 to 12 are invited to experience Jubilee Church, a childrens church service featuring puppetry arts. Interns help out at Harps CrossingHarps Crossing Baptist church has the help of several young men and women serving as interns this summer. Serving with the Student Ministry are Josh Ballard and Jillian Lee; with the Childrens Ministry are Emily Sarver and Adam Scott; and with the Music Ministry are Christina Owens and Billy Buchanan.
Providence to host DivorceCare in AugustDivorceCare, a free, 15-week, nondenominational study which features biblical teachings for those recovering from divorce and separation, will begin Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in room F-14 at Providence United Methodist Church. Persons who are separated, going through a divorce or recently divorced are encouraged to attend. Sessions are conducted through use of a workbook, video and discussion and are open to both members and non-members. Free child care is available with a reservation.
