Bad Links? | Student Appreciation Day for ESLRecently 55 students, teachers and guests gathered together to celebrate the end of this years English as a Second Language classes in Fayette County. Once a month a student gives a cooking class to the other foreign students providing a unique cultural experience. Years ago one of the students asked, When will we learn about American cooking? The teachers realized it was time for them to showcase American cuisine. Five teachers cooked typical picnic fare. Baked beans, pasta salad, potato salad, corn on the cob, pork loin on the grill and strawberry shortcake with homemade ice cream were served. Awards, certificates and even prizes were presented to the students by Janice Tarleton, director of adult education at Griffin Technical College.
