Detour set for Hwy. 74S

If you use Ga. Highway 74 South Thursday night, plan on making a detour.

A section of Ga. Highway 74 South in Peachtree City will be closed Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday so crews from the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority can work on sewer lines in the area.

The highway will be closed between Kelly Drive and Crosstown Road. All through traffic will be detoured around the work area on Dividend Drive.

If inclement weather interferes with the work, the closing will be rescheduled and additional notices will be posted, officials said.

Work slated for the area includes the surveying of existing sewerage lines, data that later will be used during the widening of Hwy. 74 at a later date, officials said.
