Springer wins grand prize at Hamptons celebrationButch Springer, a sales associate with Metro Brokers/GMAC in McDonough, was the lucky winner of the grand prize drawing at the "Fabulous Fifties" luncheon and new home tour at The Hamptons, a 42-home custom built community within walking distance of downtown Hampton. Springer said winning the drawing capped an entertaining and informative day at The Hamptons, an example of the New Urbanism lifestyle being chosen by many homeowners. "The 'Fabulous Fifties' was a fun opportunity to learn about the community and enjoy the celebration with the many local residents and civic officials who attended," Springer said. "It takes you back to another era. The sidewalks, central lawn and bandstand give The Hamptons a real sense of community. Plus, it's all within walking distance of local schools, the town library and the city park. Winning the grand prize drawing was definitely a surprise and a welcomed bonus." The Hamptons, situated on East Main Street just off State Hwy. 20, offers Craftsman-styled homes with prices starting in the low $200,000s. A short drive from Interstate 75, Highway 19-41, and the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton is only a half hour from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and 45 minutes south of downtown Atlanta. The home designs are reminiscent of the early 1900's and have period detailing such as cedar shake accents, decorative period windows and doors, tapered columns and wide covered veranda porches. The interiors feature hardwood floors, crown molding, beadboard detailing, and simple classic banisters. The Hamptons developer, the Housing Group Partners, an award winning company which has Michael Ray and James MacDowell as its principals, celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. The company, which has produced nearly 4,000 homes in Metro Atlanta, has a solid reputation for building communities reflecting the Traditional Neighborhood Design concept. The company has been active in downtown Atlanta, East Atlanta, Decatur, and in the North and West Metro Counties, previously building in the late 1990s at the Heritage Lake community in Fayetteville and also in Peachtree City and Tyrone.
