Johnson named life director of NAHBFayette County-based builder Kenny Johnson of Kenny Johnson Homes Inc. was named a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders at the associations recent Spring Board of Directors Meeting. Sandy Dunn, NAHB vice president and secretary, thanked Johnson for his dedication and commitment to attending and participating in NAHBs board meetings for the past 10 years. The growth and scope of NAHB is largely due to involved and caring board members, said Dunn. The NAHB senior officers recognize that continuing contributions from involved members will help NAHB maintain the leadership position it enjoys in the building industry. A national director has to attend at least two meetings per year for 10 years to become a Life Director and earn a permanent seat on NAHBs board of directors. Johnson, whose company builds in Fayette, Coweta and Henry Counties, began his career in building and real estate in 1972. While working for 17 years with the largest combined building and real estate company in the Southeastern United States, he distinguished himself as one of the areas premier real estate brokers, Then, in 1989, he stared his own building and real estate companies. As president of Kenny Johnson Homes, Johnson has provided leadership to many professional organizations. He served as 1994 president of the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia and was the organizations Builder of the Year in 1993. Past president of the Fayette County Board of Realtors, he is a charter member of the Sales and Marketing Council (an affiliate of the home builders association, a member of the National Association of Homes Builders Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM), a member of the National Sales and Marketing Council, and a member of the advisory board for Peachtree National Bank.
