Murphy named Realtor of the YearThe 2005 Realtor of the Year award was presented to Kathy Murphy, a Realtor and managing broker at Prudential Georgia Realty in Peachtree City, by the Fayette County Board of Realtors. The award was presented at the June General Membership Meeting June 21 at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City. The prestigious award is presented annually to the Realtor member representing the best of us. Murphy has been an actively involved and contributing member of the Board since 1983. Her contributions and qualifications were reviewed and voted on by the Awards Committee and all nominees were evaluated on Realtor Spirit, Civic Activity, Business Accomplishments, Board Activity, as well as State and National Association Activity. The Realtor with the highest overall percentage is named Realtor of the Year. Presenting the award was Board President Cheri Scranage and 2004 recipient Stephen Walker, who stated, Kathy inspires confidence that reminds those around her about the value of being a Realtor. Her devotion to the real estate industry, truly deserving of recognition, is only surpassed by her devotion to her friends and family. Seven nominees were recognized for the award: Peggy Forrest, RE/MAX Around Atlanta - All Stars; Cathy Gailey, RE/MAX Around Atlanta - Results; Sue Monson, Harry Norman, Realtors; Deborah Smith, Your Home Superstore; Michael Faulkner, Faulkner Commercial Group; and Janeece Swainey, The Home Source Realtors. I enjoy serving and appreciate this award, said Murphy. Kathy has been a role model for many in this industry and does, indeed represent the best of us, concluded Walker.
