Shoplifting: Janet Blair, an employee at Eckerd Drugs, 525 Valleywood Road, Tyrone, reported June 4 that someone stuffed 30 Venus and Mach 3 brand razor blade packs, all valued at $450, into a blue and red bag at the store. A suspect was not identified. Fayette Co. Fire and Emergency Services Building fire: At 4:25 p.m. July 6, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a building fire at 108 Green Branch Drive. Building fire: At 8:35 p.m. July 6, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a building fire at the Fayette County Jail, 2 Center Drive. The fire was caused by a heater that overheated when the power went out during Tropical Storm Cindy. Flood assessment: At 9:31 p.m. July 6, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 290 Braemar Road to do a flood assessment. Grass fire: At 7:23 p.m. July 7, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a grass fire at 1441 Helmer Road. Flood assessment: At 7:25 a.m. July 11, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 383 Hilo Road to do a flood assessment. Swift water rescue: At 8:12 a.m. July 11, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to Mann Road, Trickum Creek and Bohannon Road to assist a woman that was trapped in high water after the creek flooded during Tropical Storm Dennis. From July 6-12: the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services received 126 calls for help. Fayetteville Fire Dept. Cooking fire: At 5:48 a.m. July 1, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a cooking fire at 610 W. Lanier Ave. The fire was confined to container. Building fire: At 8:21 p.m. July 4, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a building fire at 210 Morning Mist Way. Building or weakened structure: At 8 p.m. July 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 408 Hightower Drive after a weakened or collapsed structure was reported. Tornado assessment: At 10:05 p.m. July 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to McDonough Road and Volunteer Way to do a tornado assessment. Flood assessment: At 10:20 p.m. July 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 275 Heritage Lake Drive to do a flood assessment. Flood assessment: At 11:00 p.m. July 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 225 Buckeye Lane to do a flood assessment. Flood assessment: At 11:35 p.m. July 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 605 Circle Drive Lane to do a flood assessment. Gas leak: At 1:17 a.m. July 5, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 200 White Oak Way to investigate a gas leak. Severe weather assessment: At 9:20 a.m. July 7, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 102 N. 85 Parkway to do a severe weather assessment. Building or weakened structure: At 10:57 p.m. July 10, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 113 Hickory Ave. after a weakened or collapsed structure was reported. From June 27-July 10: the Fayetteville fire department received 105 calls for help. Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Boat Accident: At 4:45 p.m. July 4, Peachtree City Water Rescue and Dive Team personnel and equipment responded to a boat overturned call on Lake Peachtree. The water rescue crews were already in the water due to the upcoming Fourth of July fireworks so they immediately responded and found three juveniles clinging to a sinking boat. The juveniles were picked up by Peachtree City Fire Department Rescue Boats and taken to shore. All three were checked and released to parents. Possible Drowning: At 10:45 a.m. July 5, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported drowning at 315 Loring Lane. Firefighters arrived to find the victim breathing. The patient was transported by Peachtree City Fire/Rescue ambulance to local hospital. Flooding: At 7:30 p.m. July 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported flooding at 101 Walt Banks. Firefighters arrived to find flooding was occurring in the basement of the church area. Crews helped management with some of the problems, but had to go back into service due to other calls. Flooding (Roof Collapse): At 7:31 p.m. July 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported roof collapse and flooding at 2763 Highway 54. Firefighters arrived to find the roof over fuel pumps at the Service Station had collapsed onto two cars. Management was told to turn all power off to that area. Flooding (False Alarms, Stranded Motorists): Between 7:40 p.m. and 8:16 p.m. July 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reports of flooding at several different locations throughout Peachtree City. These calls included false alarms caused by flooding; stranded motorists who had ventured into flooded streets and residents whose houses had flooded. Flooding: At 8:30 p.m. July 6, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to reported flooding at Tinsley Mills. Peachtree City Fire/Rescue Dive Team was activated. Firefighters and Water Rescue and Dive Team members arrived to find flooding was occurring throughout the subdivision. Boat Crews helped stranded homeowners to safety and checked all other residents for their safety. From July 4-10: Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to 65 calls for help. . |
