Bad Links? | Right On Thyme moving to Tennis CenterBy JOHN MUNFORD Fayettevilles culinary loss will be a gain to patrons of the Peachtree City Tennis Center and others. Right On Thyme restaurant has been selected as the new restaurant for the tennis center. The business, which also caters special events, was unanimously selected at a special called meeting of the Peachtree City Tourism Association last week. The parties entered a three-year contract that will begin no later than Aug. 1. As rent, the association will receive monthly payments of 8 percent of all gross sales including off-premises catering but not including service and vendor fees, sales tax or gratuity. In return, Right On Thyme gets the exclusive right to conduct all concession, catering and beverage services for the tennis center. The restaurant will be known as Right On Thyme Courtside Grill and Catering. The restaurant must provide monthly statements to the tourism association and also copies of all its monthly bank statements to determine gross sales, according to the contract. Patrons will have the option to rent out the restaurant for special events if they choose. The contract calls for minimum operating hours to be from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Menus and over-the-counter food items must be approved by the tennis center manager. The association can terminate the contract within 30 days if the tennis center is sold or ceases operation. It can also be terminated if Right On Thyme fails to respond to problems within 15 days or if fraud is committed, according to the contract. The restaurant replaces the former Ashland Grille, which was operated by two different contractors and closed in January. Although tourism officials originally planned to look at other uses for the space, which is next to the pro shop and the main lobby, numerous members reported in a survey that they would like to see another restaurant there, officials said. |
